A business providing services to the road network wanted to quantify the quality of their coverage at different drivetime KPIs. They wanted to use this analysis to identify opportunities to consolidate or add to the network to improve service quality and allow the business to compete more competitively for national contracts.
The physical location of each of the businesses depots was plotted onto a map, and the distance that a driver could travel within one or two hours calculated. This was then overlaid onto the UK road network – with different road types broken out.
This analysis was used to demonstrate the extent of network coverage, providing a clear visual tool that allowed the business to identify any areas of opportunity, and to consolidate depots to reduce cost or add new depots to expand reach and target new customers.
