Why it matters

The value of difference

We know diverse teams make better decisions. We know fresh perspectives deliver breakthrough thinking.

But we also know that equity and inclusion don’t happen on their own.

That’s why we’re building a workplace that values difference, where everyone is listened to and given the tools to grow. It’s not a side project. It’s not a box to tick. It’s part of how we operate – from recruiting new talent to developing our leadership team.

Our policies
Progress starts from within. We take practical steps to improve diversity, equity and inclusion at CIL.

That begins with inclusive recruitment and extends to a full range of support for all our people: from training programs that fuel success, to a helping hand through life’s challenges.

  • Inclusive recruitment and onboarding
  • Internal mentoring networks
  • Pay transparency and equitable progression
  • Enhanced parental leave policies, including paid time off for fertility treatment
  • External mentoring for women returning to work from a career break
  • Emergency childcare allowance
  • 'Work from anywhere’ policies aimed at supporting those with family abroad
  • Public holiday ‘flex’ to allow CILers to observe religious and cultural dates important to them
  • A hybrid working model that accommodates times when more home-working is helpful – like religious fasting periods or in the run-up to parental leave

Our DEI performance
What you don’t measure, you can’t change. We partner with DEI specialists Clusivity to track our performance on diversity, equity and inclusion.

This goes beyond surface level, to ask people about their experience of working at CIL: the culture, opportunities for progression, and representation. The results are shared openly, and used to shape clear, practical actions that help us do better.
