CIL supports The Independent x Missing People Christmas campaign
CIL supports the launch of SafeCall, a new service helping missing children across the U.K. access timely, confidential support.

We’re proud to share that CIL Strategy Consultants has donated £5,000 to support The Independent’s Christmas fundraising appeal in partnership with the charity Missing People.
This year’s campaign is helping to launch SafeCall – a ground-breaking new service to reach the 70,000 children who go missing in the UK every year. SafeCall will provide young people with multiple ways to seek help, including:
- A dedicated UK Helpline offering chat, text, phone and WhatsApp support
- A 24/7 chatbot for guidance when the helpline is closed
- A new website with youth-focused advice and information
- Proactive outreach, working with UK police
- Awareness campaigns across social media and out-of-home channels
Developed with and for young people, SafeCall has been co-designed by Missing People’s Young Advisors – ensuring the service truly reflects the experiences and needs of those it aims to help.
“Children facing harm or exploitation often feel invisible. SafeCall will be shaped by their voices – offering a safe, confidential space where they’re heard, supported, and protected.”
— Jo Youle OBE, Chief Executive, Missing People
Sir Keir Starmer hailed the campaign: “Every child deserves safety and support, which is why this initiative, designed by young people with young people in mind, is so important. I commend all those working to make this service a reality and urge those who can to consider supporting this cause.”
The campaign aims to raise £165,000 to launch SafeCall across the UK, and CIL’s donation will help bring this vital service to life – providing missing young people with someone to turn to when they need it most.
Following the success of last year’s Brick By Brick campaign with Refuge, which raised over £500,000, this new partnership continues The Independent’s commitment to tackling urgent social issues through action and awareness.
