Internal promotions demonstrate CIL’s commitment to team talent and growth
Internal promotions at CIL demonstrate its commitment to nurturing talent, supporting growth and reinforcing its position as a leading consultancy.

Following the recent appointment of our new Managing and Senior Partners, CIL has made another round of senior promotions, proving its dedication to nurturing internal talent, building its challenger position in the market, and being the best consultancy to work for.
Four key team members – Leah Daniel, Luke Rowell, Charlotte Lamnea, and James Fothergill – have been appointed to Director and Associate Director positions, strengthening several practice areas.
Leah Daniel is now a Director within our Consumer practice, having joined CIL nearly a decade ago. In this role, Leah will build on her experience of advising businesses and investors in the consumer sector – with coverage of consumer products, e-commerce, and the wider leisure and hospitality space. Leah will also continue to play an important role in CIL’s development, supporting its brand and marketing strategy. “I’m excited to continue growing and developing CIL’s Consumer practice, and I’m keen to build on our experience with e-commerce businesses through digital due diligence work. I’m also looking forward to working more directly with growing consumer businesses, through value creation and growth strategy support.”
Luke Rowell has been promoted to Director in our Media practice, building on his experience in marketing communications, print and digital publishing, business media, and data-driven marketing solutions. Luke commented, “I’m keen to build on our recent success in the Media practice, extending our coverage into key sectors such as marketing services, B2B information services, and broadcast, but also deepening our experience in key growth verticals such as gaming and sport. I’m also looking forward to developing a more international client base through U.S. and European colleagues.”
Charlotte Lamnea is now an Associate Director within the Technology practice. Since joining CIL in 2017, Charlotte has helped grow this practice area, using her strong understanding of the tech sector and excellence in delivery to build a loyal client roster. Charlotte will also be seconded to CIL’s Chicago office from August to help build our U.S. technology sector presence.
James Fothergill has been promoted to Advanced Analytics Associate Director. James has played a pivotal role in recently developing our analytics practice and its services. James commented, “I’m looking forward to growing CIL’s capability further in helping clients create value through Advanced Analytics. My interests lie in data strategy, location and customer analytics, and management information for a whole range of analytics use cases, and that is where I will be focusing most.”
Managing Partner Jon Whiteman confirmed: “I’m proud to sign off these well-deserved promotions as one of my first tasks as Managing Partner. Leah, Luke, Charlotte, and James all demonstrate what it means to be part of CIL – a consultancy that really cares about quality of service and client relationships. Investing in our people is crucial to our future success and growth ambitions, and we’re delighted to be able to recognize their achievements, with no doubt more to follow.”
