Three things on being data-driven
In this short video, David Hunt shares three things every organization should know about what it really means to be data-driven.
Being data-driven is often treated as a destination. In practice, it is more helpful to think of it as a way of working.
The organizations that tend to get the most value from data don’t fixate on a small set of metrics. Instead, they measure broadly, focus on what truly matters, and learn to ignore the noise. Data can show how a business is performing, but it does not replace decision-making.
Real value comes when data is combined with judgement, experience, and curiosity. Many organisations use it to test ideas, challenge assumptions, and explore why results differ from expectations. Being data-driven might be the aim. How you work with data is what makes the difference.
