Three things on skills and employability
In this short video, Education & Training Partner, Mark Jeynes, shares three things to understand about the future of skills and employability and how the market is evolving.
Governments and employers are increasingly prioritizing skills development as a driver of productivity and economic growth, particularly in areas where talent is scarce. Demand is rising both for transferable capabilities, such as digital literacy and cybersecurity, and for targeted training aligned to national and sector priorities.
Learning models are also changing. Micro-credentials, short courses, and stackable qualifications are making upskilling more flexible and accessible, especially for career switchers and time-poor professionals. Providers that can repackage content into modular, tech-enabled formats are gaining traction.
As automation reshapes entry-level and routine work, demand is shifting toward more human-critical capabilities, including creative thinking, decision-making, and working effectively with AI. Training models that adapt quickly to these needs are becoming increasingly relevant.
