Three things on construction technology

In this short video, Partner, Anthony Crutchett, shares three things to understand about construction technology and how the market is evolving.

Construction is one of the world’s largest industries, yet productivity growth has lagged behind the wider economy for decades. Aging processes, fragmented decision making, and reliance on manual systems continue to limit performance, even as demand for new built space accelerates globally.

Technology adoption is increasing, but progress is uneven. While thousands of specialist applications exist, many contractors and developers still rely on paper, spreadsheets, or generic ERP systems. Specialist software that reflects the realities of a contract workforce, complex procurement, and regulatory reporting is gaining traction, particularly where margins are tight.

At the same time, data capture is becoming more critical. Regulatory requirements and sustainability standards are increasing the need for platforms that can aggregate data across systems and provide real-time insight, helping firms improve procurement, budgeting, and delivery.
